Donkeys
I love donkeys. They are such gentle creatures that have served mankind for thousands of years. I admire the donkey's rabid independence with a strong stubborn streak ... traits with which I readily identify!
Atmospheric Abstracts
From turbulent to explosive color to the clear blue skies when you feel you can see forever. This is the kind of painting that will stir an emotion or memory or just wash your cares away.
Southwestern Landscapes
I have a new love of the American Southwest and High Desert Country. It is so different from my native lush green hills of Arkansas. It has allowed me to work with a totally different palette of colors!
Arkansas Landscapes
My native land. My roots in the Ozark Mountains are over 200 years old. Lush, green, hilly (I used to think mountainous until I lived in New Mexico, the beginning of the Rocky Mountains) with lots of rivers and lakes. The fall foliage rivals anything that New England has to offer. Truly a work of art in itself.
Beach Scenes
Who doesn't love listening to the waves crashing on a beach, whether it is the Emerald Coast of Florida, a secluded Carribean island, or the majestic volcanic islands of Hawaii? Take a little mental vacation with these soothing landscapes.
Figurative Abstract
I was classically trained in drawing and painting the nude model. There is a fluidity in the human body that is both sinuous and hard. I love working with all the dimensions of line, light and shadow. When expressed against an abstract background you can truly appreciate the structures and architecture of the body.
